Youth UNESCO Climate Action Network – Call for Steering Committee

11 feb

The Youth UNESCO Climate Action Network (YoU-CAN) is UNESCO’s flagship network that connects existing youth climate networks worldwide to strengthen cooperation and foster multidisciplinary youth-led climate action and research. It aims to advance climate action by leveraging the power of four key thematic areas towards a Universal Climate Citizenship: Education for Climate Action, Sciences for Climate Action, Culture for Climate Action and Communication and Information for Climate Action.

We are currently issuing a call for applications addressed to youth-led organizations and networks active in the field of climate change, to nominate representatives as possible Members to renew the YoU-CAN Steering Committee. The YoU-CAN Steering Committee will run the Network activities.

15 positions are to be filled, as you will see in the Steering Committee ToRs and Selection criteria attached.

We would be very grateful if you could help us disseminate this call to your networks.

Youth-led networks or organizations can apply by proposing one representative from their network by 5 March 2023 by filling the following form:

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by a panel composed of members of the UNESCO Secretariat and the YoU-CAN ad-hoc Steering Group. Interviews will be held in April 2023. Unsuccessful applicants will have the opportunity to join the network as a member once membership is open.
