The Global Youth Advancement Summit brings together up to 200 young leaders to address and develop innovative solutions to major challenges facing people around the world. Focusing on the grand challenge of Global Inequity, delegates will exchange ideas, showcase innovative products and services, pitch their business ventures, and build genuine networks that will enable them to collaboratively define their future in a way that is equitable, just, and sustainable.
The Summit will feature presentations by youth delegates selected through an open call for submissions which includes case study presentations, workshops, TED-style talks, innovation labs, a poster community, a venture capitalist presentation, virtual knowledge café, debates, and an entrepreneurship competition.
✓ 18 and 35 years of age (at the time of application)
✓ Plan to register for the Summit if proposal is successful
✓ Hold or are able to apply for a visa to travel to the United States
✓ Agree to be mentored by assigned faculty/industry representative. This includes coaching to support the development of presentations.

- Describe a product or service you have developed that is transforming lives/livelihoods
- Outline a social or commercial venture you are part of that contributes to sustainable communities
- Share research or best practices that are making a difference in people’s lives
The Global Youth Advancement Network aims to provide as many youth delegates as possible (on the basis of need and quality of the proposals submitted) with full or partial funding for their participation in the Summit. This would include round-trip airfare, accommodations in student housing facilities, prearranged transportation provided by the university to and from Lansing or Detroit airports, and meals throughout the duration of the Summit (i.e., breakfast, lunch, dinner, refreshments), and reimbursement for the cost of their visa application (checks will be distributed to delegates upon arrival and check in at the Summit). Delegates who do not wish to be placed in student housing facilities as described on the Hotel/Travel Page may make their own accommodation arrangements.
Submissions for proposals can be submitted until 11:59 PM on Monday, December 31, 2018 at link.
