Building Shared Space – Best Practices in Integration
22 – 25 May 2018, Budapest, Hungary

UNITED for Intercultural Action hereby invites NGO representatives to an international conference on various aspects of migrant integration, entitled Building Shared Space – Best Practices in Integration, in Budapest, Hungary, 22-25 May 2018.

Participants of the event (foreign and Hungarian experts, representatives of authorities and civil society organisations, and third-country nationals residing in Hungary) will discuss the most important challenges as well as possible solutions within the field of migrant integration in Hungary and in the European Union.

Besides general discussions on the topic of migration, the conference will focus on four sub-topics: migrants in education; cultural integration; migrants in healthcare and social services; migrants in the labour market. The conference will also serve as host of the last event of the Budapest Migration Forum roundtable-series focusing on migration and alien policing.

The latest version can always be found on the UNITED website.

Application procedure
All information and the nomination form can be found on the UNITED website:

If your organisation is interested in nominating a representative, please fill the online expression of interest form as soon as possible (deadline 22 April 2018).

Please fill in the online form completely providing all data as requested and in English. If you invest more effort in the application it has more chance to be successful!

Each organisation can nominate only ONE representative (living in Europe).

Sending this form to UNITED does not guarantee that you will be selected for the conference – we receive many more nominations than we have places for participants at the conference.

Only selected candidates will be informed about the result of their selection and receive further information via e-mail around 24 April 2018.

Financial conditions
Participation at the conference is free of charge.

Due to lack of funding for 2018, unfortunately this year UNITED does not have the capacity to contribute to the participation of NGO representatives at this conference, therefore, travel and accommodation will be self-financed. UNITED will provide recommendations for affordable accommodation for selected participants.
